la fete du Taureaux in Quissac
A tradition of the area!
They have a bar!
They have a few steers that they call
bulls!
bulls!
They have blocked off the streets and brought in garbage bins to hide in!
What more could a person ask for????
Oh yeah some young men who want to taunt the bulls.....
The girls and I started the first half in a small cage created around a tree, you couldn't see much but the excitement in the cage was enough to scare the heck out of Kali.
Where's waldo (Kali)?
This event takes place in all the larger towns in this part of France and is not a tradition of the area but adopted from Spain and is quite the party. They throw up temporary fences and create a large corral with the town square. A large beverage distibution facility is also installed to help instill some bravery in the younger guys and then they let out a really pissed off steer.
They have entertainment of some type going all day for four days and then they are doing it here again in two weeks with another 6 day festival called Feria de Quissac. Alot of families attending with people of all generations so it is a really nice atmosphere. The best part is that the average person in this part of Europe is short like us so we can have good views at the concerts.
Sounds awesome! Enjoy every moment. Can't say I'd join the bull festivities if we were there, so glad you're doing that now and not in the spring!
